If you want to give your dog an ahem, elevated feeding experience, but already have a bowl you’d like to keep using — you’ve come to the right place.
Here we present to you some of our picks for dog bowl stands. Please keep in mind that these are stands only, i.e. they don’t come with dog bowls. You can use dog bowls you already own, sort of like a DIY elevated bowl.
We list some pros and cons for each of the stands, and more information to help you make a selection. If you’re looking for a stand that comes with dog bowls, we have a list for that too, which you can check out in the link below.
Our picks at a glance
Best overall dog bowl stand
Zpirates’ stand is our pick for best overall dog bowl stand. It’s fuss-free, comes in multiples heights, and is adjustable in diameter to fit a range of dog bowl sizes. A bamboo stand that’s also collapsible and portable. It has just about every basic function you need.
However, their shortest option is 7.5 inches in height, which may be too high for some small dogs, and definitely won’t work for small puppies.
Best for large dogs
Petrageous’ steel frame feeder looks extra sturdy, perfect for large dogs that bump into things and knock things over while excited. It’s a rigid feeder, 10 inches in height and fits exactly two 9-inch bowls. The entire thing is collapsible so you can put it away when not in use.
While you won’t be able to adjust the height of the feeder, 10 inches is a good height for most large (and medium!) dogs. This may not work for extra large dogs.
Best for small dogs
It’s surprisingly difficult to find a stand for smaller dogs. We settled on this one that looks like a little platform you put the dog bowl on. It’s made for cats, but your dog won’t know that if you don’t tell him! Comes in a few cute colors to match your aesthetic.
This stand is only 2.3 inches in height, which is really only suitable for small dogs. And while there is a rim around the table, it isn’t very high. We recommend using a sturdy, non-slip bowl.
This product seems to go on sale pretty often. Marked down almost 50% at the time of writing.
Best double stand
Foreyy’s bamboo feeder is a sturdy one. It has two platforms for dog bowls, which can be adjusted independently of each other (5 levels, 2.8 inches to 13.2 inches height); this makes it a good choice for multi-dog households. The heights work for small, medium or large dogs.
The platforms are wide enough to fit a variety of dog bowls, plus it comes with 2 silicone mats to help keep the bowls in place.
That concludes our list of best dog bowl stands! There aren’t too many options currently serving this growing market. If you don’t see a stand on this list that works for you, please leave a comment below to let us know what’s lacking.
